This position is responsible for the growth and development of Bi-Con employees through required trainings determined by federal regulations, customer guidelines, and company policies and procedures. The position helps develop and administer curriculum that is job site specific to encompass owner/operator required common covered tasks and provide employees with the knowledge to complete work by using the proper procedures and safety requirements.
Provide safety training for established programs on specific topics as required.
Conduct on-site safety inspections/audits and associated documentation for all active job site locations (Construction, and Electrical divisions) and provide immediate feedback to Superintendent(s) and follow up documentation to Management staff.
Enforce the safety objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of the Bi-Con Safety Manual, OSHA, EPA, customer specific and other regulatory requirements.
On site during Confined Space Entry to determine if entry is permit or non-permit required and supervise to ensure proper OSHA and Bi-Con procedures are followed.
Maintain and publish weekly schedule of on-site safety inspections/audits.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all laws surrounding construction safety.
Attend and participate in Safety Meetings.
Make recommendations to company policies and procedures relating to safety issues.
Participate in the accident investigation and ascertain causes for use in recommending preventative safety measures and development of safety program.
Assist in the evaluation of subcontractor safety programs.
Prepares and conducts training programs for skill/craft development and improvement (supervisor training, computer training, craft training, apprenticeship program, cross training, welder school, equipment operator schooling and licensing (crane, forklift, etc.).
Assist Manager with the administration of the company Operator Qualification (OQ) program.
Maintain certified OQ training capabilities within the company.
Assist in the growth and development of Bi-Con Tech.
Manage the Short Service Employee Program, and follow up visits to ensure it is being properly administered.
Assist with the administration and development of the orientation/training program for new employees and conduct such training.
Work with current associations, ABC, APAC, INGAA, etc. and participate in programs.
Acquire and maintain OSHA, and Veriforce Evaluator status, as well as any task specific trainings or certifications to assist in training Bi-Con Employees.
Provide third party training for The Safety Group as needed.

Ideal candidate will possess an associate or bachelor degree with a safety or communication focus and/or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
5+ years of safety management and/or safety training experience required.
Electrical and/or Construction related background preferred.
A working knowledge of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, NFPA 70 and 70E.
Excellent organization, time management and communication skills required.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with highly sensitive issues or information.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred certifications: CSP or CHST Certificate, NCCER Master Trainer, Veriforce Evaluator, OSHA 500 Trainer, Safeland Trainer, JLG or other equipment trainer.
Expected travel time (in the field) – 30-40%.
